We have had a lot of excitement around our house lately. With the start of summer we have a new walker in the house!

Tony and I knew that Austin was on the verge of walking and sure enough this last weekend (Memorial Day weekend) Austin took to it like a duck to water! He was first taking a couple of steps and then diving at the catcher. Now, a week later, he strolls around the house. Still not quite sure how to get into standing position unless pulling up on something. He LOVES walking and wants to all the time.



We had a great Memorial Day at Aunt Evelyn's in her new pool and hot tub. Austin was not happy that the pool water was soo cold but took to the hot tub.


Gretchen had an idea to take the kids picking strawberries and we had a great time, the strawberries were all gone in two days! We are going to try and go one more time this season.

Since then we have been to our neighborhood pool and he loves going. This last week our Austin's friend Jack came to the pool with him and they had a great time.

MiMi and PopPop bought Austin this very tropical outfit at the GA Aquarium when they were visiting in March. He was able to wear it for the first time today. He looks like is is going on vacation. He is soo cute!

Austin is growing so fast. We are having a great time with him. He is learning some new words like tree, dog, and he likes to tell the dogs "go dogs" ( which he repeats from Tony!)

I am looking forward to the end of the month and we will be home for the summer!

I can't believe we have a 1 year old! Everybody says it I know, but time really does fly! I remember when some teachers at Tony's school would tell me how fast 18 years went with their children and I really couldn't see is going that fast. But, now I have a glimpse of what they meant and want to enjoy every moment I have with Austin. We had a great time at Austin's birthday party (pictures to come, sorry!) My sister and her family came down, and most of Tony's family was able to make it. We had a lot of friends from our small group come celebrate with us too! Austin loves cake and cried when we took it away from him. He would have eaten the whole thing! Carol made the cakes, she even had to make Austins cake twice. One for pictures and one for his party. Austins cake was a baseball and the big cake was a baseball diamond. She even made little baseball cakes for all the kids to have! Here are some pictures from Austins 1 year photos. Since Tony's whole family was in town we were able to get a new family photo of the Strange/Mimms clan adding little Aroa to our group. We were also able to get a great shot of 'the cousins', Jessica's (my sister) children, Lara and Dylan too with Austin. Enjoy!

Austin and I went for a walk yesterday. Well, I went for a walk, Austin went for a ride in his wagon. He REALLY likes riding in his wagon.

with Tony's help we were successful!

The Georgia Aquarium

Mom, Steve, Tony, Austin and I went to the aquarium this last weekend and we had a great time. I forgot my camera! Thankfully Mom remembered hers! (you saved the day mom!) It was a lot of fun and there was so much to see! My favorite part was the underwater tunnel you walk through. I could have stayed in there for hours.
