Hard to believe that the last post before the pictures below was from the first day of school on Aug. 9th. It's already Aug. 21. It doesn't feel like 2 weeks of school have gone by already. The job is definitely keeping me busy so I guess that helps it go by fast. Posted by Picasa

More goofy hair Posted by Picasa

Friday night we watched Emily while Gretchen and a friend went to the Falcons game and Tom and Levi were at soccer practice. Emily and Jen decided to do each other's hair goofy. Here is Emily's goofy hair. Posted by Picasa

One day of school down and 179 more to go. I like my new job. For those who don't know, in July, I started working for Gwinnett County Public Schools. I am what they call a TST (Technology Support Technician, or something like that). I work at a middle school named Lanier. I do like my new job but it keeps me way more busy than I thought I would be. Hopefully after the first week or two of school it will start to slow down.

I know that we don't post to this really often but I am trying to get better at remembering to at least add a picture once in awhile. I hope you all are doing well. Until the next post!

I was just talking to my parents and found out that anyone that wanted to leave a comment had to register and get a username. I apologize for that. I thought that I had set it up to allow anonymous posting of comments. I found where I messed up though, I think, and have fixed it. Now if anyone wants to post, you can without having to register and get a username and password. All I ask is that if you post anonymously, please put your name somewhere in your post so we know who you are. Thanks!
We did get home yesterday night. They were 45 minutes late boarding the plane in Shannon, Ireland. This obviously made us late getting into Philly. We got in about 3:15. Then we had to get our bags off that plane and go through customs, then recheck our bags for the next flight. All this (in concorse A mind you) and get to concorse F to catch our next flight at 4:25pm. We did actually have to go back through security too. You know, the whole place everything on the conveyor belt for x-ray, take your shoes off thing. It's not like we had ever passed out of the security area to begin with to pick anything up. To make things even worse, our tour leader took off before we even got through customs and didn't wait for about half of us. Was kinda steamed about that, since a few of us had never done this type of thing before and had no clue where to go. Anyway, it worked out. We actually caught a break (in a sense) and the flight was delayed to 4:55. We made it to the gate in plenty of time, and yep, the tour leader was sitting there waiting for us. (Ok, thanks for letting me vent) We actually didn't get on the plane till sometime after 5pm. Then while we were sitting on the plane, it started raining with lightening. The crew on the ground, loading the luggage, was called inside. So our luggage was sitting out in the rain. Finally the rain subsided and they went back out and loaded the rest of the luggage and then we started to taxi out. Next thing you know, the captain comes on the speakers and says that weather in Atlanta had stopped planes on the ground there so we couldn't take off yet. So we waited again. Finally we did take off and got into Atlanta around 9pm or so. We ended up being about 2 hours late. But hey, we're home and we had a great time! Once we go through the approximately 1000 pictures that Jen took, she actually took more than that but deleted many of them as we went along, we will try to get a bunch of them together and post the on the web. Once we do, I'll put the link to them here on our blog. It was a great experience, but I am happy to be home.  Posted by Picasa

The last picture I took with my phone on this trip. This was a cute little cat sitting by the information center at the bottom of that long walk up to the fort. Posted by Picasa

Ahh here's the name of the fort, Dun Aonghus. Posted by Picasa

This is a section of the wall of the fort. They didn't use any type of mortar. They built all their different walls around the island and forts using just the rocks. They would cut the rocks to fit just right. These walls are solid too, obviously, to still be here. Posted by Picasa

Here is Jen looking over the side. She'll do anything to get the picture. No, that guy wasn't holding that girl. He was actually trying to scare her. If that would have been me laying there, I'd have kicked him right in the..... Posted by Picasa

This is the view down from the fort. Pretty windy too. Posted by Picasa

This a view during the walk up to the fort. Again, the picture from a camera phone will not do these pictures justice. Posted by Picasa

There is a fort at the top of that hill (don't remember the name right off)...yes it was a long walk. But it was definitely worth it! Posted by Picasa
